Mikumi is an ideal place to spot lions as they lazily survey the vast herds of buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and impala that roam the grasslands. Elephants seek the shade of acacia stands while hippopotamus wallows in pools close to the entrance gate. With this fly-in and out safari – you make the most of your time on Zanzibar by adding an unforgettable safari experience.

ITINERARY

Early morning on this day our driver pick you up at the place of stay in Zanzibar and drive to the Zanzibar airport to catch your flight to Mikumi National Park for a 40 minutes activity. On arrival, your driver guide welcome you. After a short briefing we start the game drive across the park.

The Mikumi floodplain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. We explore with you the different areas of the park like Mkata plain, Kisungura area and hippo dams. The animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. Our professional guide will assist you to spot and explain the behavior of the sightings.

At lunchtime we will have our bush lunch picnic right in the wilderness.

Mikumi National Park is sometimes called the most accessible corner of Selous and sometimes compared favourably to the open plains of the Serengeti, Mikumi is Tanzania’s fourth-largest nationalpark and a game viewer’s dream. With your guide, you will set off continuing exploring the wildlife.

After an unforgettable game drive, you will set off back to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar.

Your plane will depart in the late afternoon around 15.30 – and you will be back in Zanzibar airport at 17:00. Our driver taken you back to your hotel with a head full of memories and a camera full of unforgettable photos.
